Team Locum are hiring an Optical Assistant for an independent in the heart of Kentish town.

This practice is well established and has been helping its community for over a decade.

You will be joining a well established team that emphasises the “team” aspect. So while transitioning into this role you will have as much support as you need.

The practice is a stones throw away from Camden town and the centre of London, so it is ideal for anyone that is looking for the hustle and bustle of a vibrant and exciting city.

You would ideally have some dispensing experience however, the qualification isn’t required for the role

The role itself would consist of;

• Patient Care, you would be welcoming and checking In Patients.
• Pre-Testing – Performing preliminary eye tests and assessments before the optometrist sees the patient.
• Administrative Duties – Appointment Scheduling, booking appointments for eye examinations and follow-up visits as well as managing the optometrist’s calendar.
• Patient Records – Maintaining and updating patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy and entering test results and prescription information into the system.
• Product Sales – Selling eyewear, contact lenses, and other optical products.
• Stock Management – Managing inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies, ordering new stock and ensuring display areas are well-organized and attractive.
• Lens Preparation – Assisting with the fitting and adjustment of lenses and frames.
• Customer Service – Answering patient queries regarding eye care, eyewear, and contact lens use.
• Aftercare Services – Adjusting and repairing eyewear, following up with patients to ensure satisfaction with their eyewear and eye care services.
• Supporting the Optometrist – Assisting the optometrist during examinations and procedures if needed as well as performing additional tasks as directed by the optometrist or practice manager.
